John E. "Jack" Stotler

John E. “Jack” Stotler, 90, of Stoystown, died Nov. 15, 2024 at UPMC Presbyterian. Born Nov. 16, 1934 in Quemahoning Twp., son of John Stotler and Mary (Corbett) Stotler Gardner. Preceded in death by parents, stepfather Millard Gardner, wife the former Patricia S. Howell, and brother Ernest Stotler. Survived by children: Mary Lee, John III “Jack” (Lisa), Joan (Steph), and Christine Stotler; grandchildren: Jesse, Eric, Amber, Stacey, Beth, Valerie, Micki, and Vincent; 5 great grandchildren; brothers: David, Dale (Patricia), and Donald (Mary) Stotler; sister Nancy (David) Dinning; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1952 graduate of Forbes High School and a Korean War Air Force Veteran. Jack was a retired furniture repairman for several local furniture stores and after retirement he worked part time at the Daily American. Member of Horner Lutheran Church. He was also a Sunday School Teacher at the former Grace Lutheran Church, Stoystown, and a Judge of Elections for Quemahoning Twp. He enjoyed gardening, painting, wood working, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. A celebration of life will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday at Horner Lutheran Church. Pastor Regina Holliday officiating. Inurnment Maple Springs Cemetery, Jerome. Graveside Military Honors by the Somerset Co. Honor Guard. Following the service a meal and time of fellowship will be held in honor of Jack’s 90th Birthday at Horner Lutheran Church.
