Joseph Petro, 91, Berlin, died July 26, 2025 at home. Born April 25, 1934 in Berlin, son of Wasko and Anastasia (Ditchko) Petro. Preceded in death by parents, son Mark, brothers Lewis, Mike, Steve, John, Nick, and Paul, and sisters Annie, Elsie, Julie, and Mary. Survived by his wife of almost 60 years, the former Betty Lou Brady; sons Cory and Samuel (Julie) Petro; grandsons Nicholas Petro and Bryce and Brett Cover; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1952 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a US Army Veteran who served in Korea. Joe was the former owner of Berlin Motors. Member of SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church, where he served as council president for many years, and was a former member of Berlin VFW Post 7295. Joe enjoyed telling stories with his customers. When they couldn’t locate Joe, they would look for his two labs Katie and Abby who were always by his side. He was an avid hunter, enjoyed snowmobiling with close friends, fishing, riding motorcycles, picking blueberries in Dolly Sods, WV, working in his garden, and spending time with his family. A Panakhyda Service will be held at 9:15 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home followed by the funeral service at 10 a.m. at SS Peter and Paul Russian Orthodox Church in Goodtown. Rev. Fr. Elijah J.
