Joyce Ann (Gill) Beachley

Joyce Ann (Gill) Beachley, 85, Berlin, passed away peacefully at Somerset In Touch Hospice House on January 26, 2020. Born Sept. 18, 1934 in Baltimore, MD, to the late Russell S. and Lillian M. (Salter) Gill, she married John Beachley in 1956. She is preceded in death by her husband and daughter, Nancy Beachley Froehlich. She is survived by her son, John Beachley II married to the former Darlene Maust, son-in-law James (Tonya) Froehlich, grandchildren Andrea (Josh) Milburn, Rebecca (Ben) Lorson, Laura (Joe) Wyant, Lisa Williamson, and Kylie Froehlich, 11 great grandchildren, sister Eloise (John) Long, nephew David (Susan) Long and niece Debbie (Doug) Lehman. Joyce graduated from Berlin Brothersvalley High School and West Penn School of Nursing. She worked as a nurse at the Somerset Hospital and for the Somerset County Head Start Program. She was a teacher for Somerset County Vo-Tech in the Medical Assistant Technology program. Joyce was the past President of the Pius Spring Woman’s Club, board member of the Children’s Aid Home, and a board member of the Berlin Historical Society. A member of Holy Trinity Evangelical Lutheran Church in Berlin, she played the piano and organ. She loved to travel, play cards, tend her flower gardens, and spend time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren. The Beachley family expresses its gratitude to the congregation of Holy Trinity and all the caregivers that assisted her over the years. Special gratitude is extended to the staff at Somerset In Touch Hospice House and the staff at Meadow View Nursing Center. Family and friends will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 9:30 a.m. until service at 10:30 a.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home. Rev.
