Judith P. (Shawley) Weigle

Judith P. Weigle, 79. Friedens, died Feb. 23, 2023 at Windber Hospice. Born Aug. 31, 1943 in Somerset, daughter of Robert Shawley and Alberta (Close) Queer. Preceded in death by parents, grandparents who raised her Albert and Pearl Close, children Jennifer and Jeffrey Weigle, and brother Mark Queer. Survived by her husband of 61 years Gerald Weigle; son David; daughter Michelle (Joseph) Gleason; grandchildren: Ginger Weigle, Jessica Barndt, Blake and Joel Weigle, Lana McCormick, and Joseph Gleason III; 7 great grandchildren; brothers and sisters: William, Barry, Jack, and Tim Queer, John, Betty, Robert, Linda, Barbara, and Gary Shawley. She was a graduate of Somerset High School. She was a farm wife for 40 years and then worked for Allegheny Social Services for 7 years. Member of North Ridge Baptist Church, Friedens. She made quilts for all of her children and grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service at 12 noon Monday at North Ridge Baptist Church. Pastor Greg Knupp officiating.
