June Marie (Benko) Berkebile

June Marie Berkebile, 86, formerly of Stoystown and Friedens, died January 14, 2022 at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor in Somerset.   Born June 6, 1935 in New York, June was the daughter of Frank and Frances Benko.  Preceded in death by parents and her husband Virgil Berkebile. Survived by special friends Carol and Rich Wagner family, of Stoystown, and cousins: Matthew and Elaine Rypczyk family, of Ruffs Dale. She worked for Selected Risk Insurance Company until her retirement. After her retirement, June was a dedicated care giver to many children. She was a member of the Stoystown Lioness Club for many years and a member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Per June’s request, there will be no visitation or funeral at this time. A graveside service is being planned for the Spring. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Stoystown Lions Club, C/O John Richards, 289 Coleman Station Rd., Friedens, PA 15541.
