Obituary

Karen J. Duppstadt, 70, Central City, died Aug. 29, 2020 at home. Born June 14, 1950 in Somerset, daughter of James and Myrtle (DeArmitt) Carmany. Preceded in death by parents and husband Jerry. Survived by sons Christopher and wife Jami, Somerset, and Justin, Central City; granddaughter Mya Duppstadt; sisters Blodwen Lenart and Sidney married to Elwood Duppstadt; brother Eric Carmany; several nieces and nephews; Godsons William Lenart and Davin Winfield; and Goddaughter Carlie Ferg. She was a graduate of Shade High School. Member of Graef’s Lutheran Church, Cairnbrook, where she sang in the choir, taught Sunday school, and served with WELCA. She enjoyed baking and cooking for family and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Monday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Graef’s Lutheran Church. Pastor Jeff Bassette officiating. Per state mandate, masks and social distancing are required.
