Karen S. Kooser, 80, of Somerset, passed away peacefully on April 24, 2026. She was born May 23, 1945 in Somerset to the late Fred K. and Sara B. (Wagner) Shaffer. Karen is now reunited with her late husband Ronald L. Kooser. Survived by children: BradleyAnn (Don) Dively, Stephanie (Dean) Weaver, Kenton (Wendy) Kooser, Kristi (Adam Timulak) Black, and Kerri Kooser; grandchildren: Jordon, Hunter, and Mitchell (Kelsey) Dively, Sara (Steve) Spruell, and Samantha Weaver and fiancé Timmy Troy; great grandchildren: Liam and Lucas Dively; and sister Patricia (Charlie) Hauger. She was a 1963 graduate of Somerset High School and a member of Grace United Methodist Church, where she served as the Financial Secretary for over 20 years. She helped to save lives by donating over thirteen gallons of blood and when her veins could no longer handle the donation process she continued to help by volunteering at the Red Cross blood banks. Karen enjoyed canning, gardening, spending time with her cat Jet, and baking for her family. The viewing will be from 9 a.m. until 11 a.m. with a service to follow on Saturday, May 2, at Grace United Methodist Church, Somerset. Pastor Justin Judy and Rev. Charles Olsen officiating.
