Obituary

Karl W. “Amos” Miller, 88, Huckleberry Highway, Berlin, died September 29, 2021 at UPMC Altoona Hospital. Born January 16, 1933 in Somerset son of Jacob and Ida (Lambert) Miller. Preceded in death by wife of 63 years Evelyn Miller, son Jamie Miller, brothers Glenn Miller and Guy Miller; sisters Marion Weigle, Anne Rayman, Marguerite Lauer, Evelyn Vitangeli, Leah Cecil and Marlene Hochard. Survived by son Gary W. (Kathy) Miller, Roxbury; brother Jay (Edie) Miller, Berlin; grandchildren: Tara (Aaron) Vancil, Cody (Miranda) Miller and BreAnn (Dustin) DeWitt; and great grandchildren: McKenna, Harper, Hudson and Elliotte Vancil, Maxton and Carrigan Miller and Avery DeWitt. He was a 1950 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School and a Korean War Army veteran. He was employed as a welder at US Steel, Johnstown for 36 years, and he was a rural mail carrier. Member of Roxbury U.C.C. Later in life, he was an avid auction attendee and acquired quite a collection of “collectibles”. He enjoyed spending time with his family and friends, hunting, trapping, raising cattle and collecting coins. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Rev.
