Karl J. Plummer

Karl J. Plummer, 58, Friedens, died Sept. 21, 2023 at home. Born July 20, 1965 in Altoona, son of Clarence R. and Regina M. (Beiter) Plummer. Preceded in death by parents and infant brother Keith. Survived by his wife of 28 years, the former Jenny S. Bigelow; children: Isaac Karl and fiancée Rachel Jones, Caleb William, Micah Nathaniel, Samuel Richard, and Makayla Sue Plummer; brothers and sisters: Karen (Michael) Cobaugh, Kenneth (Mary), Kevin (Holly), Kimberly, Kris, and Kurt (Janice) Plummer; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1983 graduate of Forest Hills High School and a 1984 graduate of Johnstown Vo-Tech with a Tool and Die Technology diploma. He was the owner/operator of Plummer Farm where they milked cows for 23 years before they converted to beef and hog farming. Faithful member of Solid Rock Baptist Church, Somerset County Beef Assoc., and the National Cattlemen’s Assoc. He enjoyed helping Isaac at Plummer’s Custom Cutting, helping Caleb start and manage his own farm, gardening and raising poultry with Micah, raising beef and hogs with Samuel, and spending time with Makayla doing various activities. Family will receive friends from 12 noon until a service at 3 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Mr. Travis J. Hetz officiating. Private interment Plummer Family Farm Cemetery.
