Kelly Lynn (Shaffer) Hanes

Kelly Lynn Hanes, 52, of Shanksville, died Feb. 29, 2024 at home. Born June 12, 1971 in Somerset, daughter of Linda Walker and the late Rodney Shaffer. Also survived by husband of 32 years Richard “Dicki” Hanes; daughters: Chloe (Dylan) Koval, Kennedy (Josh) Beistel, and Harleigh Hanes; grandchildren: Miles and McKinley Koval, and Daxton Beistel; sisters: Amanda Keyser (Jim Ellis) and Jessica (Parker) Martin; brothers: Todd (Connie) Shaffer and Josh Steffan; father-in-law Richard (Patty) Hanes; step mother Tina Ketrab; and numerous nieces, nephews, and friends. She was a 1989 graduate of North Star High School and a former employee of Lowe’s. She enjoyed gardening, rescuing cats, collecting rocks, Sunday dinners, shopping, road trips, and spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 10 a.m. until funeral service at 11 a.m. Monday at Mostoller United Methodist Church, 549 Pompey Hill Rd., Stoystown, PA 15563. Pastor Joseph Caola officiating.
