Kenneth Ray "Sonny" Brubaker

Kenneth Ray “Sonny” Brubaker, 95, of Hooversville, died July 14, 2024 at Windber Woods. Born May 19, 1929 in Shade Township, son of Kenneth E. and Zelma (Shumaker) Brubaker. Preceded in death by parents, daughter Roxanne Thompson, son-in-law Charles Thompson, grandson Ronald Kephart, and sisters: Jean (Hobert) Berkey and Doris (William) Gindlesperger. Survived by his wife of 72 years the former Nelda “Shirley” Rugg; son Jeffrey, Summerville, South Carolina; grandsons: James Kephart married to former Julene Knapp, Pittsburgh, and Douglas Kephart, Central City; great grandchildren: Brock and McKenzie Kephart; and brother James Brubaker, Florida. He was a 1947 graduate of Shade High School and a retired dairy farmer. Member of Ridge Church of the Brethren. A private viewing will be held at the convenience of the family. Interment P.O.S. of A.
