Lacy Jean (Sechler) Thomas

Lacy Jean Thomas, 43, of Hooversville, was received into the presence and embrace of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ on January 6, 2025. She leaves behind for a short time her beloved husband Josh, and adored children: Julia Jean and Levi Joshua. Lacy was born on Feb. 18, 1981 in Johnstown. Preceded in death by her father Gregory Sechler, maternal grandparents: Michael and Frances Zellam, paternal grandparents: Arthur and Eura Sechler, and niece Jylyan Leasure. Also survived by her mother Carolyn Sechler and David Shomody, known to Lacy as Shamods, and his family; sister: Darcy Sechler and her life partner Shawn Leasure, and their children: Ethan (Taylor), and their son Tavin, Drew (Trista), Meghan, and Kelci Leasure; mother and father-in-law: Nancy and Blair Thomas; sister-in-law Lisa (Brad) Costigan, and their children: Olivia and Maddie. She was a 1999 graduate of North Star High School and a 2004 graduate of The University of Pittsburgh with a B.S. degree in Communications. Prior to having children, Lacy and Josh enjoyed numerous trips to various places, including Lake Powell where they got engaged, and Gatlinburg where they married Sept. 6, 2014. Growing up Lacy had a love for anything Curious George. As a family they enjoyed many trips to the Outer Banks, Hatteras Island, and shelling the “Frisco Disco” as Julia called it. Lacy was an avid Steelers, Pens, Pirates, and Pitt Fan, a true “Yinzer”. She enjoyed gardening, canning, camping at the Que, and spending time with her family. II Corinthians 5:19.
