Larry Wade Benning

Larry Wade Benning, 83, New Baltimore, died September 10, 2023 at home. Born January 30, 1940 in Fairhope, son of John Edward and Mary Amanda (Ellenberger) Benning. Preceded in death by parents, son-in-law Terry Davis, brother Wayne Benning, and sisters Janet Gindlesperger, Imogene Stiffler, Betty Landis, and Carole Duppstadt. Survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Audrey Will; children: Lynn (Pamela) Benning, Lesa Davis and friend Ray Lasure, Lori Benning and fiance Bob Zerfoss, and Len (Kirk Widner) Benning; 8 grandchildren; 14 great grandchildren; sister Judy Suder; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a welder/mechanic for numerous years and retired from Wal-Mart. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, Knights of Columbus 3rd Degree, New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club, and was a charter member of the New Baltimore VFC. He enjoyed hunting, gardening, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where a Vigil Service will be held at 4 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore.
