Larry R. Leister, 73, Berlin, passed away on February 26, 2025 at home. Born July 26, 1951 in Meyersdale. son of Ralph and Edna Mae (Boyer) Leister. Preceded in death by his mother, son, Eric M. Leister, sister Cathy Smith, brother-in-law Timothy Murphy and in-laws, Ray and Thelma Hauger. In addition to his father, he is survived by his wife of 54 years, Brenda (Hauger) Leister; daughter Tara (Michael) Miller; grandchildren Layken and Owen Miller; sisters Diana Murphy and Brenda Hillegass; brothers- and sisters-in-law: Joseph Smith, Jeff Hillegass, Lynn (Wanita) Hauger, Susan (Kim) Landis, and Lowell (Barb) Hauger; numerous nieces and nephews; good friends Danny Cessna and Richard Witt; and two special people, Corinne Johnston and Colton Bollman. A 1969 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School, Larry was a two year veteran of the U.S. Army, stationed at Walter Reed Medical Center, Washington D.C. He was employed by B&O, Chessie, and CSX railroad with 42 years of service in the signal department. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, hunting and restoring antique tractors. He was a member of New Baltimore and Kennels Mills Sportsmans Clubs. At the request of the deceased there will be no visitation. A private memorial service will be held at the convenience of the family. Pastors Robert Keplinger and Joe Gray officiating.
