Leo Elwood Bittner, 93, Berlin, died March 7, 2022 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born February 2, 1929 in Glencoe, son of Miles Allen and Pearl (Schrock) Bittner. Preceded in death by parents and brothers Lawrence and Duane Bittner. Survived by his wife of 72 years, the former Dorothy Brant; sons: Barry married to the former Diane Sechler, and Bryan married to the former Elizabeth Suhrie; grandchildren: Lance Bittner (Melanie), David Bittner (Brett Hosterman), Kevin Bittner (Carrie), Danielle Bittner (Anthony), Dustin Bittner, and Dana Elliott (John); great grandchildren: Gavin, Maddox, and Nolan Bittner, Skyler Andrisko, Gracin, Braxton, Aubree, and Oliver Bittner, and Jonathan, Jacob, and Jase Elliott; and sister-in-law Jane Bittner. He was a 1947 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School. Former FBI employee, Brothersvalley Twp. dairy farmer, school bus and charter bus driver. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin and Berlin Men’s Octet. He was an avid Steelers, Pirates, and Penguins fan. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Rev. Robert Keplinger officiating. Interment Fritz Cemetery.
