Leroy Homer Trent, Jr., 87, Somerset, died March 26, 2023 at UPMC Somerset. Born May 22, 1935 in Stonycreek Twp., son of Leroy H. Sr. and Carrie Myrtle (Stutzman) Trent. Preceded in death by parents, brother Richard, and sisters: Metta Lambert, Minnie Russo, Orpha Rubright, and Jane Firestone. Survived by his wife of 60 years, the former Ruby M. Schrock; and sons Douglas L. of Oklahoma and David E. at home. He was a 1953 graduate of Shanksville Stonycreek High School. He served in the US Army as a field artillery repairman. He retired from Schrock’s Service Station and Somerset Fuel as a service station attendant. Member of Faith Lutheran Church. He enjoyed bird watching, gardening, making scrap books, and collecting antiques. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Kathleen Stump officiating.
