Leroy Irvin Turner, 69, of Friedens, formerly of Bedford, died peacefully at home on October 18, 2025. Born January 30, 1956 in Bedford, son of Irvin and Rosemary (Patterson) Turner. Preceded in death by parents, beloved daughter Alisha Turner, and brother Richard Ritchey. Survived by sister Sandra Ritchey of Bedford, brother Harry (Patricia) Ritchey of Chambersburg, sister Becky Howsare (Joshua Pittman) of Bedford; daughters Jamee (James) Boozer of Central City, and Brooke (Jonathan) Thiele of Friedens; grandchildren Blaze Turner, Breanna Turner, Brooke Mickey, Gunner Lehman, Owen Boozer, Alec Thiele, Grant Boozer, Julia Thiele, and Isaac Thiele, but they were all “Frank” to him; and niece Valene (Michael) Kinsey who cared for him while he was ill. Also survived by many nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends who were like family, and former long-time partner, Robin Lambert of Berlin. He was blessed by Jonathan and Brooke who opened their home and lovingly cared for him during his final weeks. Leroy worked for many years at B&L Tree Service, and his coworkers were not just friends, but like a close family to him. He was happiest in nature and liked collecting things he found in the woods. He enjoyed hunting and fishing and butchering “at the farm” on weekends. His grandchildren were the joy of his life, and he was so proud of them. He was always ready to act goofy to make them laugh, and they adored their Pappy. Leroy fought hard until the end, because he said he had so much to live for. A celebration of life is being planned for Nov. 15. Contact the family for details. Arrangements entrusted to Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. DeanerFuneralsAndCremations.com
