Lester Charles Custer 62, of Berlin, died December 31, 2024 at home. Born September 30, 1962 in Somerset, son of Nancy (Onstead) Custer and the late Lester H. Custer. Survived by his wife of 38 years the former Jeannie Miller; daughters: Courtney (Chris) Baeckel and Ally (Eric) Warren; grandchildren: Lillian Mae Baeckel and Silas Charles Warren; brother Douglas (Natalie) Custer; and special friends: Maurice and Karen Kujat and Tom Shepherd. He was a 1980 graduate of Shanksville-Stonycreek High School and received an Associate Degree in Criminal Justice from A.C.M. He retired from Somerset Co. Adult Probation after 28 years. Member of Unity United Church of Christ and Sons of the American Revolution. Founding member of Glades Highland Antique Iron Assoc. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, riding motorcycles, Revolutionary War reenactments, classic movies, and going to flea markets. He loved collecting Hot Wheels, Slot Cars, trains, comic books, records, and guns, and spoiling his grandchildren. He was a treasure filled with abundant wisdom and skills. He will be forever missed by all who knew him, especially his fur babies Loki, Astrid and Freya.
