Lewis Charles Hegadus Jr., 84, Shanksville, died Feb. 23, 2020 at Siemon’s Lakeview Manor. Born April 12, 1935 in Windber, son of Lewis Sr. and Caroline (Laslo) Hegadus. Preceded in death by parents, sisters: Caroline (Don) Lohr, Dorothy (John) Hudy, and Annie Polacek, and brother Joseph (Patricia) Hegadus. Survived by his wife of 63 years the former Barbara Bajic; daughters: Erika married to Kevin Wilt, and Celeste Hegadus, all of Shanksville; grandchildren: Kenton Wilt and girlfriend Natasha Meck, and Lexus Wilt; brother Theodore “Ted” (Linda) Hegadus, Windber; and brother-in-law Joseph Polacek, Daisytown. He served in the U.S. Army as a Medic. Retired from Bethlehem Steel, Johnstown, and former co-owner of B & L Market, Shanksville, for 30 years. Member of St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. The most important thing to him was his grandkids. He enjoyed hunting with his grandson, spending time at hunting camp, watching his grandkids play sports, and sitting on the porch watching the deer. Family will receive friends from 4 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Viewing from 9:30 until Funeral Mass at 10 a.m. Thursday at St. Peter’s Catholic Church, Somerset. Rev.
