Linda J. (O'Neil) Eisentrout

Linda J. Eisentrout, 75, Berlin, died September 29, 2024 at Meadow View Nursing Center. Born June 17, 1949 in Pittsburgh, daughter of the late Joseph Glen and LaVerne (Lucas) O’Neil. Survived by her husband of 52 years, Barney; son Travis (Ashley) Eisentrout; grandchildren: Kolston and Trace Eisentrout; sisters: Beverly (Jeff) Berger and Gail (Paul) Sakalik; brothers: Glen (Lisa) and Ray (Carey) O’Neil; half-sister Karen (George) Larson; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Bishop Boyle High School and California University of Pennsylvania. She was a teacher who taught Special Ed., first grade, and kindergarten at Turkeyfoot and Berlin. She enjoyed the simple things in life such as sewing, gardening, canning, baking, and spending time with her family, especially her grandsons. Linda also shared the family’s love of the game of basketball with all of the boys in her life. Whether it was being the cheerleading advisor while her husband coached at Turkeyfoot and Berlin, or rebounding foul shots every day before school for her son Travis, or watching her two grandsons fall in love with game and cheering them on during their youth league games, Linda loved being a part of it. She also shared the family interest of cruising in their old Hot Rods and attending auto races, Linda would do anything as long as she could spend time with the ones she loved the most. There will be no viewing or service at Linda’s request. In lieu of flowers or contributions, Linda requests prayers for and acts of kindness towards those less fortunate.
