Lisa Drenning Obituary

Our sweet, sweet sister, Lisa Danette Drenning, 58 of York, formerly of Hooversville, peacefully slept her way into the loving arms of Jesus on Tuesday, October 26, 2021 in York.  Born May 16, 1963 in Johnstown, the loving daughter of Roy and Iona (Wadsworth) Drenning, both deceased, whose family farm was located on the outskirts of Hooversville, the place Lisa called home. Lisa was preceded in death by siblings: Charles Drenning, Roy Drenning Jr., Gladys Bucci, Eugene Drenning, and Ray Shaffer, nephew Larry Drenning, and niece Summer Bree. Survived by siblings: Angela (Ed Bohle) Henry, York, Rusty (Melba) Drenning, Fairfield, ID, Cindy Storm, Manchester, Patty (Ken) Willkow, Somerset, Judy (Craig) Nash, Sherman, TX, Jack (Mac) Drenning, York, Terry (Bernie) Shaffer, Jim (Lois) Drenning, and Rod (Anna) Shaffer, all of Hooversville, Norman Drenning, Hollsopple, Donald (Sharon) Drenning, CA, Rebecca (Albert) Lambert, IL, and Cloyd (Rosie) Drenning, Alum Bank; caring sister-in-law Sandy Shaffer, Hooversville; many nieces, nephews, extended family and friends; and her precious rescue cat “Tazzy” who she dearly loved. Lisa was currently living with her younger sister, Angela, in York, where she was a caregiver for Angela’s beloved son, Hunter, who is autistic. Lisa adored Hunter with all her “heart of gold.” Lisa graduated from Shade High School and was formerly employed at Lark Enterprises, New Castle. In former years Lisa enjoyed fishing in the family pond at the farm, shooting hoops at the garage, playing ball on the family baseball team and in high school. She loved the outdoors, spending time with her cat, animals, and “zoning out” while playing video games on her phone. She was an avid Steeler fan! Lisa was a gentle soul with a heart of gold. She made friends everywhere she went, i.e. the bus stop, the bank, the pharmacy, Fair Weather Lodge, Lark Enterprises, York, Hooversville, etc. She wore a huge smile! There will always be a big hole in our hearts from our loss of Lisa, but Jesus holds her with loving arms. We will always miss you, Lisa! Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 4th, at Deaner Funeral Home, STOYSTOWN, where a funeral service will be held at 2 p.m. Friday, Nov. 5th, with a visitation one hour prior to the service. PLEASE NOTE CHANGE OF LOCATION. If you are not vaccinated the family asks that you wear a mask. Pastor Mike Faidley officiating. Interment P.O.S. of A. Cemetery. Contributions to help with burial expenses may be sent to Patty Willkow, 216 South Dr., Somerset, PA 15501. If more funds are donated than are needed for the burial expenses, they will be put in a fund for autism needs for Hunter Henry. Thank you to all who contribute! DeanerFuneralsAndCremations.com
