Lois Theora Rodger, 95, of Hooversville, died Nov. 8, 2024 at Windber Hospice. Born July 11, 1929 in Windber, daughter of Ralph and Grace (Miller) Bloom. Preceded in death by parents; husband of 73 years James N.; brothers: Merle Ickes, Leroy, Ralph Jr., and Arthur Bloom; and sisters: Violet Thomas and Millicent Molchak. Survived by children: James A. Rodger, and Jacqueline A. (Denny) Shriner; grandchildren: Eric (Michelle) Shriner, and Ann (James) Conroy; great grandchildren: Lily Shriner, and Delainey and Maddox Conroy: and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife and mother. 1947 graduate of Hooversville High School. Former employee of Somerset Co. Recorder of Deeds, and PA Dept. of Labor and Industry. Retired from PA Dept. of Public Welfare in 2001. Member of the former Trinity Lutheran Church, Hooversville. She was active in the Somerset Co. Republican Party. She enjoyed flower gardening, reading, cryptograms, local and national politics, and restoring and selling collectibles. Family will receive friends from 4 to 6 p.m. Tuesday at Deaner Cremation Center, 976 Barn St., Hooversville, where service will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday. Rev. Gerald Myers officiating.
