Marianne B. (Zaher) Madey

Marianne B. Madey, 86, Berlin, died Jan. 24, 2020 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 26, 1933 in Sonman, daughter of John Sr. and Esther (Gall) Zaher. Preceded in death by parents, husband Frank, granddaughter Megan Rose Smith, brothers: James, Stephen, Joseph, Frank, John, and Michael Zaher, and sisters: Magdalene Clinton, Margaret Stanchek, Irene Zaher, and Elizabeth Onorato. Survived by children: Scott and wife Paula, Shippensburg, Stuart, Raleigh, NC, Sondra married to Ed Smith, Berlin, Suzanne married to Bobby Edwards, Meyersdale, and Shawn and wife Taryn, Apex, NC; grandchildren: Zachary (Lindsey), Ian (Megan), Bailey, Gretchen (James), Cory (Kristi), Shannon (Travis), Kye, Zayne, and Hiedi (Gregory); great grandchildren: Creed, Kassidy, Coby, Cale, Teaghan, and Haydon; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a 1950 graduate of Portage High School, and member of St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Macdonaldton. She enjoyed painting, crafts, crossword puzzles, card clubs, and caring for her grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where Vigil Service will be held at 6 p.m. Sunday. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at St. Gregory’s Catholic Church, Macdonaldton. Rev. Stephen Shin, OFM Cap. celebrant. Committal St. Gregory’s Cemetery.
