Melissa A. Poorbaugh

Melissa A. Poorbaugh, 49, Somerset, was called home by her Heavenly Father on Oct. 23, 2021 at UPMC Altoona. Born Dec. 31, 1971 in Meyersdale, daughter of Robert E. and Susan (Shultz) Poorbaugh. Preceded in death by father; grandparents George and Jennie Poorbaugh and Richard and Irene Shultz; aunt Carole Beattie; uncles: Stanley Glessner and Danny Wingo; and cousin Nathan Poorbaugh. Survived by her mother and sister Christine Poorbaugh, both of Garrett; aunts: Penny Glessner, Sally Wingo, and Barb (Phil) Muzina; uncle Gary (Twila) Poorbaugh; great aunt Connie (Charlie) Sturtz; and cousins: Stacy Mankamyer, Brenda (Vic) Gaibor, Georgene (Bob) Kreger, Shawn (Rachel) Poorbaugh, Stephanie (Eddie) Faidley, Erica Wingo, and Gabrielle and Logan Muzina. She attended Sought Out Ministries in Somerset. She will be sadly missed by her family and friends as well as the people she met on her life’s journey at the Somerset County Workshop, the Somerset Adult Living Center, and Skills of Somerset. She enjoyed the activities and outings provided to her at Skills. She loved her cat Joslyn whom she said picked her out when she was a volunteer cat cuddler at the Humane Society of Somerset County.
