Merle Ray Shaffer, 76, Hooversville, went to be with the Lord Aug. 16, 2020 at Chan Soon-Shiong Medical Center, Windber. Born Nov. 3, 1943 in Atlanta, GA, son of the late Merle Ray Shaffer Sr. and Iona (Wadsworth) Shaffer-Drenning. Survived by his wife of 55 years the former Sandra Hostetler; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was loved by all. He served in the U.S. Navy and was a retired security guard. Member of Hooversville Church of the Brethren where he was a Trustee and Usher. No viewing or service at Ray’s request.
