Michael Matieszyn, 92, Berlin, was called home to Heaven to be with Jesus his Savior on January 31, 2024. Born October 12, 1931 in Berlin, son of John and Anna (Harbist) Matieszyn. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Nellie Mae Bowman, son Michael J.; sisters Mary and Kathryn; brothers Peter and two infants; and great granddaughter Angelina Brown. Survived by his children: Rose (Mike) Stottlemyer, Dale (Vicki) Matieszyn, Rebecca and Donna Matieszyn, and David Matieszyn and fiancée Donna Delecki; daughter-in-law Karen Matieszyn; grandchildren: Michael (Amanda) Stottlemyer, Jr., Benjamin (Chelsea) Stottlemyer, Jennifer Stottlemyer, Christal (Jamey) Swank, Dale “Eddie” Matieszyn, Kayla Brown and fiance Patrick Hunt, Matthew, Laura, Jonathan, and Logan Matieszyn; step grandchildren: Brandi King and Jeff Foy, Jr.; great grandchildren: Michael III (Micah), Isaiah, Anna (fiance Joey Charlton), and Olivia Stottlemyer, and Aryanna Brown; step great granddaughter Madison King; sister-in-law Rose Ohler; and numerous nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his beloved dog Sandy Sue, his “buddy” and protector. He was a graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a Korean War Army veteran. Michael “Pap” was a meticulous dozer and heavy equipment operator and retired from Croner, Inc. Pap was loved deeply by his family and all who had the honor of knowing him. He served the Lord faithfully as a prayer warrior, as well as singing with his family “The Matieszyn Family” for over 50 years. We have comforting knowledge to know we will soon see you again Pap and absent from the body, you are present with the Lord.
