Mildred Jane (Ackerman) Deem

Mildred Jane “Millie” Deem, 88, Berlin, died December 27, 2024. Born August 29, 1936 in Garrett, daughter of Simon P. Sr. and Ora Mae (Schram) Ackerman. Preceded in death by parents, husband Wilbur “Porky” Deem Sr., son Joseph A. Deem, daughter Bonnie J. Weimer, son-in-law Thomas R. Leasure, Sr., sisters Ila Mae Keith and Linda Bowman, and brothers Simon Jr., Charlie, and Don Ackerman. Survived by children: Ella Hutchinson (Les) Holly, Bill Hutchinson, Paul “Tim” (Rindy) Hutchinson, and Jodi (Darin) Janidlo; grandchildren: Anthony (Miranda), Thomas (Megan) and Zachary Leasure, James (Barbie) McMillan, Ashley Ferguson, and Sara, Brady, Carson, and Ryan Janidlo; great grandchildren: Curtis and Wyatt Leasure, Delia and Paige Leasure, Alexa Nicole, Aeralyn, and Addison McMillan, Jaxson and Adalynn Fochtman, and Aiden Ferguson; great great granddaughter Vivyanah; sisters Ellen Nightingale and Peggy Reynolds; brother Ron (Patty) Ackerman; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Meyersdale Area High School. She attended Berlin Brethren Church. Mildred enjoyed reading her Bible nightly and spending time with her family. There will be no viewing or service at Mildred’s request. A private celebration of her life will be held at a later date.
