Nellie Rose (Mincek) Petrilla

Nellie Rose Petrilla, 92, of Hooversville, passed away peacefully in her sleep Aug. 19, 2019. Born June 24, 1927 in Hooversville, daughter of Ignatius and Julia (Augustyne) Mincek. Preceded in death by parents, beloved husband Steve J. “Brownie”, daughter Annette Marie, son Stephen, grandson Alex, daughter-in-law Bonnie, brothers: Frank, Stanley, Joseph, John, Jacob, Walter, Ignatius, and Louis, and sister Mary. Survived by children: Marcia and Dan Kaltenbaugh, Christopher and Georgiann, Leonard and Carol, and Stanley and Amy; grandchildren: Annette, Alyssa, Alijah, Alexis, Nicholas, Cassandra, Charlotte, and Caroline; great grandchildren: Liam and Violet; special niece and best friend Barbara Rush; and numerous other nieces and nephews. Member of Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. Nellie was the cornerstone of her family and always welcomed family and friends alike into her home with an open door and an open heart. She and Brownie hosted countless dinners and picnics and were well known for their fabulous meals. Nellie was fond of playing cards and polka dancing, all surrounded by her many friends and family over the years. She was particularly proud of her Polish heritage and devoted to her Catholic faith. Nellie was a dedicated and loving mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend to all. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Hooversville. Funeral Mass will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday at Holy Family Catholic Church, Hooversville. Rev. Angelo Patti Celebrant. Committal church cemetery.
