Pearl E. (Smith) Siperek

Pearl E. Siperek, 91, of Stoystown, went to Heaven September 23, 2025, at Somerset Healthcare and Rehab. Born Nov. 7, 1933 in Midlothian, MD, daughter of William and Pearl (Hott) Smith. Preceded in death by parents, husbands Oliver David Morgan and Herbert Victor Siperek, daughter Sharon Siperek Percherke, and 17 brothers and sisters. Survived by children: Duane Morgan and wife Sherry, Hanover, Vicki Birkhimer and husband David, and Gay Durst and husband Bob, both of Stoystown; grandchildren: Magan (Rob) Wantz, Daniel and Damien Morgan, Chris (Amy) and Matt (Misty) Birkhimer, and Fred (Brandy), Allen (Triena), and Melissa Durst; great grandchildren: Kensingtyn and Lachlan Wantz, Hailee Morgan, Lilly, Camber, Kendyl, and Oliver Birkhimer, and Olivia and Isaac Durst. Pearl was one of 21 children, and her surviving siblings are: Jerry (Nicole Ackerman) Smith, Alice Carmack, and Linda Barker; sisters-in-law Pat Rowe and Dolly Smith; and numerous nieces and nephews who called her “Auntie Mire”.  She was 1951 graduate of Bell High School, Frostburg, MD. Pearl ran the family business with her husband, Herb’s Tavern for 32 years in Jenner Crossroads. Member of Friedens Lutheran Church, Stoystown American Legion Auxiliary, Stoyestown Area Historical Society, and Hite House Coffee Club. She enjoyed puzzles, traveling, and spending time with her family. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday. Pastor Rick Smith officiating.
