Robert Ray Coughenour, 93, Berlin, died July 30, 2025 at home. Born December 25, 1931 in Glen Savage, son of Leroy and Mae Isabelle (Egolf) Coughenour. Preceded in death by parents, brothers Winmer (Lillian), Paul (Claudine), Chester, Floyd (Violet) and Donald, and sisters Evelyn (Ray) Poland and Janet Coughenour. Survived by his wife of 72 years, the former Roberta Johnson, daughter Deborah Coughenour and significant other Lloyd Groft; son Brian (Suzan) Coughenour; grandchildren: Derek (Paige) and Dustin (April) Coughenour, and Molly (Tyler) Will; great grandchildren: Camden and Bennett Coughenour, Rory Glessner, and Liam Will; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a 1950 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and was a Korean War Army Veteran. He was a retired greenware inspector for Briggs of Somerset. Member of Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin, American Legion Post 445, Berlin, Berlin VFD for 65 years, Berlin Sportsman’s Club, and Berlin Area Historical Society. He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, and friend. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. There will be no viewing or service at Robert’s request.
