Robert R. “Bob” Glotfelty, 90, Berlin, died April 3, 2019 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Jan. 5, 1929 in Meyersdale, son of Walter and Emma (Kretchman) Glotfelty. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Mack, Lee, Walter Jr., and Clark, and sisters Pauline Spear and Hazel Critchfield. Survived by his wife of 67 years, the former Bernadine “Dolly” Platt; children: Maxine (Jerry) Lloyd, Robert L. (Colleen) Glotfelty, and Debbie Schurg; grandchildren: Sue (Ron) Emerick, Richard (Buffy) Schurg, Missy (Todd) Deeter, Robert (Ashley) Schurg, Alissa Wright, and Joshua (Michele) Glotfelty; great grandchildren: Tori, Ronnie, Kortni, Karter, Katie, Jordan, Megan, Chase, Colton, Logan, Cora, and Lucy; great great grandson: Jaxson; and many nieces and nephews. He was a Korean War Army Veteran and retired from Bethlehem Steel after 30 years of service. Member and past commander of both the Berlin and Meyersdale American Legions, member of Meyersdale Elks Lodge 1951, VFW Post 7295, Berlin, Somerset Eagles, and New Baltimore Sportsman’s Club. He also served on the Berlin Borough Council for 8 years. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday.
