Roland D. “Rollie” Fogle, 85, of Berlin, passed away on December 16, 2024 at home. Born July 29, 1939 in Berlin, the son of Robert W. Fogle and Virginia Rose (Logue) Saylor. Preceded in death by: parents; his wife of 34 years, Barbara Ann (Sabo); sisters Shelva Ryan and Maxine Fogle; daughter in-law Lori Fogle, and step-father R. Paul Saylor. Survived by his sons: Tim (Kathy), Newnan, GA; Darc, Colville, WA; Rick (Chris), Tacoma, WA; and Michael (Jeanne), Berlin: 10 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; sisters Cindy Fogle, Somerset, and Carolyn Carbaugh (Michael), Hagerstown, MD; step daughter Rena Tateleba (Tony), Berlin; 4 step sons; 9 step grandchildren; 8 step great-grandchildren; and nieces and nephews. Also survived by special friends Charlie &Lori Eutin. He was a 1957 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School and a U.S. Army veteran of 101st Airborne, 506th Infantry, E Company, serving 1957 to 1960.Roland obtained his professional land surveyor license in 1967. He graduated from the University of Pittsburgh Civil Engineering program in 1968 and received his professional engineer license in 1971. Roland was owner of R.D. Fogle Engineering and Fogle Mining, Inc., providing professional engineering and land development services to Berlin and surrounding areas for over 55 years. He acquired his pilot license in 1966, piloting his own private airplane for many years. He was a jump master for the Allegheny Skydivers Club at Indian Lake. Roland was the oldest member of the Berlin Fife and Drum Corps, joining in 1962. He served as a Trustee to the Berlin Cemetery Association for 38 years. Also a member of: Berlin Fire Department (53 years); New Baltimore Sportsman Club; Berlin American Legion Post 445; and Trinity United Church of Christ, Berlin. Rollie lived life to the fullest. He always said ”Who has more fun than people?!?!” He will be forever missed and never forgotten.
