Ruth E. Walker

Ruth E. Walker, 91, of Friedens, died April 30, 2025 at Laurel View Village. Born June 1, 1933, daughter of William E. and Mary E. (Arnold) Gerhart. Preceded in death by parents, first husband Elwin E. Ross, sister Anna L. Nelson, and brother Ralph E. Gerhart. Survived by husband of 40 years Guy E. Walker; children: Nanette E. (Ray “Ed”) Ringler, Leslie A. (Robert) Keefer, Brian D. (Amber) Sperry, Alice Hummel, Susan (Eugene) Hankinson, Dennis Walker, and Sandy (Alan) Walker-Samler; grandchildren: Ross (Kate) Ringler, Elizabeth Ringler and fiancé Justin Snyder, Ian Ringler, Matthew Keefer, Ashlynn and Austin Lavan, Jason (Bonnie) Martz, and Steven Martz and fiancée Kelsey Ogle. She was a graduate of Meyersdale High School. Ruth enjoyed visiting Florida, building bird houses, tractor shows, ATV riding, puzzles, and spending time with her family and friends. Family will receive friends from 2 to 5 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. A private graveside service will be held at Walker Farm Cemetery, Stoystown.
