Sarah Swank Obituary

Sarah Marie “Sal” Swank, 83, of Indian Lake, died January 6, 2021 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born April 16, 1937 in Stoystown, daughter of Lloyd J. and Catherine E. (Custer) Corbett. Proceeded in death by parents, husband of 57 years who passed in 2014 Millard “Mike” Swank, daughter Pamela Jane Dinner, and brother James Corbett. Survived by son Scott Swank; son-in-law Scott Dinner; grandchildren: Cullen (Emillee) Swank, Lydia Swank, Sarah Dinner, and Sam Dinner; great grandchildren: Lincoln and Calvin; sister Elaine Dill; sister-in-law Cathy Corbett; brother-in-law Terry (Francis) Swank; and numerous nieces and nephews. Sarah was a 1955 graduate of Forbes High School.  She enjoyed reading, cooking, and taking care of her family. Mike and Sal loved to entertain. Friends and family were always welcome to drop by for 5 o’clock happy hour which included drinks and whatever 5-star dinner Sal had prepared for that evening. She will be sadly missed by all that knew her. Jesus told her “I am the resurrection and the life. Anyone who believes in me will live, even after dying.  Everyone who lives in me and believes in me will never die.” A private viewing and graveside service to be held. Chaplain Donald Stotler officiating. Interment Odd Fellows Cemetery, Stoystown.
