Shirley Katherine (Brueggman) Gaffron

Shirley Katherine Gaffron, 64, Berlin, died Oct. 25, 2018 at Memorial Medical Center, Johnstown. Born Oct. 23, 1954 in Pittsburgh, daughter of Regis and Margaret (Lau) Brueggman. Preceded in death by her father. Survived by her mother of Pittsburgh; husband of 44 years, Robert C.; children: Jenny (Jonathan) Woytek, Katie (Brendan) Nicholson, Annie (Andrew) Bargielski, Elizabeth Gaffron and boyfriend Jay Herringdine, and Olivia Gaffron, a student at Mercyhurst University; grandchildren: Lucas, Hayley, and Joshua Bargielski, and Patrick and Henry Nicholson; three brothers; and two sisters. She has an Associate’s Degree from Somerset Campus of A.C.M., and was an LPN at various nursing homes. Member of St. John the Baptist Catholic Church, New Baltimore, and she enjoyed knitting and painting. Family will receive friends from 6 to 8 p.m. Saturday, and 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Funeral Mass will be held at 11 a.m. Monday at St. John the Baptist Church, New Baltimore. Rev. Mark Pattock celebrant. Committal church cemetery.
