Sonny James Durst

Sonny James Durst, 48, Hollsopple, died November 4, 2024 at home. Born February 23, 1976 in Newfane, NY, son of Alvin E. “Pete” Durst and Sadie Heiple. Preceded in death by parents, wife Dawn, and his dog, Bexley. Survived by his son Joshua Gorgone; brothers: Randy L. Durst and Stephen E. (Rita) Durst; sister Melinda (Michael Rugg) Durst; aunts: Esther Dunn and Martha “Putz” Durst; and several nieces and nephews. He was a former employee of Geochemical and Somerset Area Ambulance. He attended Indian Lake Christian Center. Sonny enjoyed racing and riding motorcycles, turtle trapping, the outdoors, and traveling. Family will receive friends from 1 p.m. until a memorial service at 2 p.m. Sunday at New Life Worship Center, 327 Allegheny St., Boswell. Rev. Cletus Leasure officiating.
