Stephen Anthony Hondal

Stephen Anthony Hondal, beloved partner, son, brother, grandfather, uncle, and friend, passed away on May 18, 2023 at the age of 53 at UPMC Somerset. He was born on October 10, 1969 to Robert and LaVerne (Sessa) Hondal, and was cherished by his family and close friends. In addition to his parents, Steve is survived by his partner of 5 years, Robyn Calvert, and her son Zachery Calvert and daughter Jessica Lewis, as well as his step-children, John Nickerson and Cynthia (Ben) Case. He was the loving brother of Robert (Jane) Hondal and Michelle (Rick) Scurfield, and the adored uncle of Nicolas, Dominic, and Juliana Scurfield, and Mary and Julia Hondal. Papa Stevie, as he was known to his adorable grand children, Isabella, Evelyn and Lydia will be greatly missed. Steve was known for his kind heart, quick wit, and willingness to help anyone in need. He worked tirelessly to support his family and provide a comfortable life for all those he loved.   He was an avid sports fan, loved all Pittsburgh sports and was an avid golfer.  Steve will be remembered for his unwavering loyalty, sense of humor, and the joy and love he brought to all of those he touched. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him and will forever be remembered. His family will receive friends on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin, where service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday. Rev. Robert Keplinger officiating.
