Susan Kay Paxton, 77, Friedens, died September 10, 2024 at Windber Hospice. Born December 27, 1946 in Somerset, daughter of Emmett and Evelyn (Witt) Miller. Preceded in death by parents, son Timothy Paxton, grandson Joseph Paxton, and sisters Nancy Hyde and Shirley Ann Mosholder. Survived by her companion Ralph “Bill” Montgomery who she loved for 40 years; children: Terry (Brenda) Paxton, Sr. and Traci (Bret) Horning; step sons William and Jim Montgomery; grandchildren: Terry (Autumn) Paxton, Jr., Logan (Luke) Byers, Wyatt ( Chelsea) Horning, and Warren Horning; great grandchildren: Keegan, Harlee, Jacob, Lilly, Callum, Nico, Holly, and Ashley; sisters: Pat Shaffer, Carol Pollock, and Kathy (Jim) Nuccetelli; brother John (Karen) Miller; and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a graduate of Somerset High School and was retired from Gilmour Manufacturing. She was a very loving lady who loved knitting and crocheting. Family will receive friends from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Rev. Jay Shaffer officiating.
