Terrance W. "Terry" Bittner

Terrance W. “Terry” Bittner, 82, of Glencoe, passed peacefully at his home on June 3, 2023. Born July 21, 1940 in Hyndman to the late Carl and Helen (Burkett) Bittner. Predeceased by his sisters, Cheryl Custer and Pam Lowery; son Terrance "Bill" Bittner, son-in-law, Randy Gillingham, and granddaughter Janel Gillingham. Terry is survived by the love of his life, his wife of 63 years, Glenda (Webreck) Bittner, and his daughters Kimberly Gillingham, Kelly (Roger) Price and Jody Durst. He also leaves behind grandchildren: Annie (Jesse) Wolk, Trevor (Denise) Gillingham, Joshua (Becca) Bittner, RJ (Jess) Price, Mitchell (Shantel) Price, Brad (Tayler) Durst, Zeb Durst, Sami (Chance) Latshaw, Mikalah Durst, and Jessica Bittner; 11 great-grandchildren with two more due to arrive this year. Also survived by brother, Jay, and numerous nieces and nephews. Terry married Glenda in 1959 and spent 20 years working for the Kelly Springfield Tire Co., in Cumberland, Md. Before and after work, he put in countless hours working at the family farm. Upon the closure of the tire company, Terry was employed by Surge, fixing HVAC equipment in milking parlors all over the central and western parts of the state. He told his wife and children often that he loved this job. In his retirement he took a cross country road trip with Glenda, driving all the way to California and back. Terry was a hard worker who enjoyed country life, was an avid hunter, a member of the NRA, and a Steelers fan. Terry loved the Lord and His holy word and was active in his church, New Hope of Meyersdale. He was a good man and will be greatly missed. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Viewing from 10 a.m. until service at 11 a.m. Thursday at New Hope Church.
