Thomas D. Gerber

Thomas D. Gerber, 75, Berlin, died July 13, 2023 at The Patriot. Born June 24, 1948 in Johnstown, son of Thomas A. and L. Jean (Wentz) Gerber. Preceded in death by parents, brother Robert G. Gerber, and sister Mary Alice Duckett. Survived by his wife of 47 ½ years, the former Dorothy Gardner; children: Kerri Marie (George) Sivits, Garrett, Jason Michael (Alexis) Gerber, Fountain, CO, Justin Thomas (Missy) Gerber, Berlin, and Lindsay Allison Ohler and special friend Tim “Wink” Lindeman, Meyersdale; grandchildren: Brandon, Katelyn, Kaleb, Noah, Abi, Isabell, Hannah, Hunter, Nicolas, Braden, Lakyn, Tyler, Tristan, and Jackson; great grandchildren: Malia, Kia, Isla, Charlotte, and one on the way. He was a 1966 graduate of Berlin Brothersvalley High School, a Vietnam War Navy Veteran, and a retired truck driver. Former member of Berlin American Legion Post 445. Member of Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin, Trucker’s Association, and a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, traveling, and spending time with his family. A memorial service will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, July 27, 2023 at Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, Berlin. Pastor Robert Keplinger officiating. Military Honors at the church by the Berlin Veterans Home. In lieu of flowers, donation may be given to Holy Trinity Lutheran Church, 525 Main St., Berlin, PA 15530 or plant a tree or garden in his memory.
