Thomas L. Horner, 80, of Boswell (Thomas Mills), died Feb. 22, 2023 at home. Born Jan. 2, 1943 in Johnstown, son of Harry and Elvera (Berkey) Horner. Preceded in death by parents, brothers: Robert, Duane, Carl, James, and Donald, and sisters: Doris Horner and Betty Smith. Survived by wife of 52 years the former Celine Hoffman; sons: Troy T. (Danielle) and Tanner Z.; grandchildren: Bailey and Joshua; and brother Jack (Joyce) Horner. He was a 1961 graduate of Jenner Boswell Joint High School and a Vietnam War Army Veteran. Tom was a former employee of Oneida Mining as a mechanic, and Emglo Air Compressors. Member of Benscreek Lutheran Church, where he served on council and volunteered as needed. Also a member of Stoystown American Legion Post 257. Tom was always willing to fix, build, or lend a helping hand to friends and neighbors. In his spare time he enjoyed golfing, hunting, and spending time with his grandchildren. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Stoystown. Funeral service will be held 10 a.m. Saturday at Benscreek Lutheran Church. No viewing at the church. Rev. Jonathan Adams officiating. Interment Thomas Mennonite Cemetery.
