William Franklin Day Jr.

William Franklin Day Jr., 83, of Berlin, died Nov. 14, 2020 at UPMC Mercy Hospital, Pittsburgh. Born June 29, 1937 in Kimmelton, son of William Sr. and Blanche (Wright) Day. Preceded in death by parents, wife the former Anastasia Valarinos, daughter Tammy Wadsworth, grandsons: Colton Day and Joseph Donaldson, and brother Leonard Day. Survived by sons: Randall (Marybeth) Day, Stowe, OH, Steven (Kristine) Day, Meyersdale, William III (Adrienne) Day, Uniontown, and Nicholas (Krista) Day, Pittsburgh; grandchildren: Jeanna (Thomas) Dupree, Brian Vargo, Nathan Day, Jennifer (Christopher) Spennati, Adam Day, Ryan Day, Candace (Gary) Jacques, Kaeli (Steven) Haer, Hunter Day, Alex Day, Kara Day, and Lily Day; 11 great grandchildren; sister Delores “Peg” (Robert) Hoyman; sister-in-law Rosemary Day; companion Judy Durst; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was a retired carpenter. Member of New Apostolic Church, Greentree, and SAL Squadron 445, Berlin. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, watching Pirate Baseball, gardening, assisting the Berlin Honor Guard with funerals, and spending time with his family. Family will receive friends from 5 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin. Per state mandate masks and social distancing are required. A private service will be live streamed at 2 p.m. Saturday on Deaner Funeral Home’s Facebook Page. Rev. Ron Schwesinger officiating. Interment Hay’s Church Cemetery.
