Obituary

Wilma I. Miller, 84, went to be with her Lord and Savior peacefully at her home October 12, 2021.  Born April 26, 1937, in Somerset, daughter of Clifford and Geneva (Felton) Derencin.  Preceded in death by her parents, sisters, JoAnn Rossi and Betty Bruner, sisters-in-law, Mary Jo Derencin and Joyce Derencin.  Survived by her husband of 65 years Rev. Marlin A. Miller, children: Karen Miller, David (Betty Lou) Miller, Mark (Michelle) Miller, Amy (Sotiris) Aggelou, Anita (Ryan) Berich; sister Barbara (George) Harris, brothers, Bernard Derencin, Donald (Judy) Derencin, twin brother Wilbur Derencin, brothers-in-law, Ronald Bruner, Joseph Rossi; grandchildren: Austin Miller, Anastasia and Iliana Aggelou, Hannah Miller, Tyler Berich and numerous nieces and nephews. Wilma attended Braum one-room school grades 1-8, was a member of the National Honor Society, and graduated from Somerset High School in 1955.She was a stay at home mom until her youngest child was in middle school.  She was employed as a secretary at Belle Vernon School District, Office of the Aging in Monessen, North American Manufacturing, and Camp Allegheny.  As a pastor’s wife, she was a great help during 60 years of Christian ministry.  Wilma and Marlin served as tour hosts for several trips to the Holy Land, Egypt, and Greece.  She read her Bible through each year and prayed daily for family and friends.  Wilma enjoyed spending time with her grandchildren, crossword puzzles, cruises, camping, gardening, canning, freezing, and baking.  She was a devoted daughter, sister, wife, mother, grandmother, and friend.  Her life was an example of God’s love and service. Wilma was a member of the Shanksville United Methodist Church. Family will receive friends from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Deaner Funeral Home, Berlin.  Viewing from 10 a.m. until a celebration of her life and faith will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at Shanksville U.M.C.  Pastors Robert Katzenstein and Douglas Burns officiating. Interment Somerset Co. Memorial Park. The family would like to thank In Touch Hospice of Somerset for their loving care and those who have prayed for Wilma and her family.
