Sue L. Merrill, 78, Ligonier, died August 12, 2015 at home. Born May 22, 1937 in Garrett, a daughter of Howard and Bernadine (Lehman) Merrill. Preceded in death by parents, husband Richard L. “Smokey”, and son Matthew. Survived by son, Maximilian and daughter Meredith, both of Meyersdale; and sisters: Lynn (Harold) Turpack, Portland, Oregon; and Barbara Westgren, Pittsburgh. A graduate of Somerset High School and Penn State University. She was a gifted artist and volunteered in many charity plays throughout her life with the Valley Players of Ligonier. A private family graveside service will be held at Berlin I.O.O.F. Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Valley Players of Ligonier, PO Box 127, Ligonier, PA 15658.
